Age: 28
Gender: Female
Race: Hylian
Location: Lives in the town of East Bridge, works in Golden Crossing
Appearance: I do faceclaims since I don't draw, and I'm choosing Meghan Trainor for this girl, and not because she happens to have a song out I love :D I like her unusual, yet friendly face, and I can see it in Garden! (See a picture below) I imagine however that she is a little pleasantly plump, yet still fit, and energetic.
Personality: Garden is a girl with big ideas and big dreams, given to her by her father and her former job -- which opened her up to aspects of life few ever experience. Her large personality has been somewhat burdened down by her loss of that job, and the birth of her son -- an unusual kid whom she's had trouble bonding with. Taking her artistic abilities out in her textiles, cheaply woven by her father but made quality by Garden's exotic dyes, Garden's trying to keep her priorities straight and her imagination from wandering away with her.
Background: Garden isn't a medium.... exactly. But she did interact with spirits for her entire adult life up until recently. In former years in Hyrule, those who had passed on, yet who had the habit of hanging on to the Realm of Light, were gently persuaded to travel on to the next world with items called Light Parcels. Light Parcels could be purchased by family or close friends of the deceased, filled with images and warm memories, then worn around the neck of the spirit in the form of a lantern necklace. The Light Parcel helped the dead to feel at peace "moving on", as long-time loves and memories were not lost, but carried along with them to warm them during their long, cold, miserable trek through the Shadow Realm ahead. The concept was invented by the Grand Witch of Hyrule and provided a little solace to the dead, but much more solace to the living who could feel good about helping a loved one more on. Garden trained in Light Parceling as a young girl, having been moved by the practice when her father had purchased one for her mother, who had died years ago.
But things have changed. Now that the Realm of Shadow is leaking into the Realm of Light, spirits have cast aside their light parcels, distracted by the prospect of the brighter Light offered by merely inhabiting the land of the living once again. Having gone nearly bankrupt in the last year, the Light Parcel shop Garden worked for closed down, and she has been forced to a form of work no longer full of meaning -- dyeing and selling fabrics. Garden owns her own booth among the village shops, working from morning to night to make a living for herself and her three-year-old son, Jarl.
The problem? A man's spirit continues to insist upon following her around. She recalls having sold his family a Light Parcel around three years ago, but nothing stands out about him other than that his cause of death remains very much unknown... and that he had been dead a decade before his body was ever found. Ever since the Shadow Realm has opened, he's been almost everywhere she goes, even venturing past the standard Shadow Bubbles around Hyrule. As Garden has only ever been able to view spirits who allowed themselves to be seen (and therefore, spirits everybody else could see too), this isn't convenient for running a booth in town. And as if she weren't worried enough about her young son, this is yet another thing for her to have to distract him from....
Garden lives home with her dad, Markwick, and Jarl.
Weapon: Her dad makes her wear a small dagger for protection, and that's kinda it.
